Muzhi Liu

PhD student | Political Science, Columbia University

I am a third year PhD student in Political Science at Columbia University. I study Political Communication, American Politics, and Comparative Politics.

Currently, I am working on projects about how political identities are formed online and are projected to political preferences and behavior. My working projects involve the following topics: 1) how our current information environment polarizes the public symbolically, and how that affects people's vote outcomes; 2) how political information flowing offshore shapes distant witnesses' political views and choices.

I hold a BA in Political Science from Emory University prior to Columbia.
